I love Goose but I feel like this has all the makings of a forgettable ‘plateau year’. Mexico and points of cap were strong but it seems like having an expansive song catalog for a band still tweaking and growing leads to some boring sets and some unfavorable, non-cohesive set lists. I’ve seen Goose 13 times and love them but this is my take for ‘23
@DetroitLightning that’s a fair critique. There are some stretches in sets where you really scratch your head at song choice. Particularly on the front end of some sets. All that said, they’ve written some really good material I’ve the last 2 years and those tunes deserve play.
@Phreba completely agree. I feel like Dripfield should be played every 3rd show. Madhuvan also needs more plays, it’s a chalkdust kinda song that is essential to goose’s existence. I feel like they need to nail down their overall shit before truly opening catalog up.
@DetroitLightning Madhuvan absolutely needs more play. Should be a regular in opening slot of either sets.
@Phreba as you were saying
@DetroitLightning just listened back this morning, a damn fine Madhuvan as well.
