In Germany, teaching the Holocaust is mandatory.
It includes visits to concentration camp, museums, etc. They don't shy away from their own ugly history. Yet the kids aren't damaged; they're strengthened, matured, humbled. The U.S. needs to do same with slavery.
Not that complicated.
A strong next generation is precisely what Republicans don't want to see in the young
They want murderously insane child soldiers like Kyle Rittenhouse, not inspirational & smart children like Amanda Gorman
They want a next generation as simply consumers, not citizens
They want underpaid serf labor hopelessly mired in apathy & despair
They want addicts, to violence, to rage
They want the next generation saddled with debt; student loans & mortgages
They want a Nazi do-over
One in seven homes in Atlanta is owned by private equity hedge funds.
Both property prices & rents have ballooned because of the commodification of housing stock.
Housing & employment precarity is politically useful.
Boomers were mortgage free well before retirement. Gen X, Y, & Z will still be paying a mortgage after retirement, or forced to sell to pay for retirement.
