Texas Observer won't close, lay off staff after all

After the magazine staff exceeded a $200,000 goal to save the publication, the Texas Democracy Foundation decided to save the Texas Observer in new board vote.

Shoutout to all my people who remember when Houston had (gasp) two staffed and investigative papers. We were a #chron family, but the existence of a thriving “Post” as well was a nobler time: when papers weren’t thinly wrapped piles of wire service articles and clickbait targeting what the narrow demographics wanted to have served to themselves.
