xkcd

So it seems like my xkcd post was successful! It was actually a reupload of an old Pleroma post from 1 year ago, but I was able to successfully revive it on my Mastodon account!

This helps give me an idea of all the reach that has been lost on my previous account on Starnix. However, it did hit the Explore timeline, and @splitshockvirus boosted it. Thanks SSV!

Keep telling yourself that kid

@splitshockvirus Well, here's the thing: You guys are now being blocked by Mastodon instances left and right, but those instances were able to see my post on Linux Rocks. Not that many instances are blocked here either.

When I was on your instance, my activity was trending towards the Mastodon Network and I was gaining followers from there, which went against the flow of your instance being blocked.

Here (and on my own instance too), I can follow accounts from mastodon.art, octodon, mas.to, oldbytes.space, and many other instances that blocked Starnix. If I remained on Starnix, I would still be constantly worrying about our instance getting blocked, so I decided it was not worth it and I moved here. And it seems like I made a good decision for my Mastodon account.

@splitshockvirus I've waited to do this until you switched from glitch-soc to Vanilla Mastodon. You were put back on 500 characters while LinuxRocks was on 1000. And even though you switched to Hometown, it's glitching out on my phone so I wouldn't be using it anyway. So I feel like I have made a good decision from this.

But just remember I still love Starnix. I kept my accounts on the Pleroma and Misskey instances, and I created @james2 so I could still see the local timeline despite having the redirect notice up on my old account. By asking people to follow that account, I wasn't intending on clout chasing. I was asking existing followers to switch to the new account.

I even got @karson777 on your instance! Since he was looking on leaving Fosstodon to follow certain accounts, I invited him to your instance because he could still federate with most of the instances he did on Fosstodon.

So please don't feel bad about me leaving. This is supposed to be a win for both of us.

@[email protected] Flirt with canceldon instances if you want to, eventually they will catch on and realize you are just playing the fence for fediverse up cummies, or defame you for having multiple accounts. LRO has the same rules as us defeds a similar number of instances, there is no reason to think they are somehow exempt from fediblock. Doesn't really matter to me I'm not oversocialized, likes, retweets, and follows literally don't matter to me yet somehow I still get them. Have fun tho, but please stop tagging me unless it's about business :cirno_heh:

Starnix
@jamesp well, no. It wasn't ten years ahead of it's time, because at the time we knew and no-one listened. The time to fix it was then. Kind of the point.

@jamesp

I laughed so hard my wife upstairs sent me a text saying I'd better share what's so funny.
