My favourite part of transitioning is when the illusion of cisheteronormativity falls away and you start to understand the world in an entirely new way, and you begin to exist outside of a system that honestly seems built only to keep you shackled and complacent.

And how trying to describe or explain this to a cis person is like trying to describe the colours a hummingbird sees which we don't.

God damn, The Matrix was spot-on, huh?

My second favourite part of transitioning is how many of us used this newfound perspective to just be extremely gay for girls with dicks.
@unworthyBeatrix
Felt the same way learning I was autistic. Some things just don't seem to be able to be translated in a way that the "normal" people will understand.
@unworthyBeatrix this is a beautifully accurate description; all the more so because of its brevity, simplicity and awareness 🌷
@unworthyBeatrix Like trying to describe the flavor of purple or the texture of light.
@unworthyBeatrix yep. really hope cis people with open minds read my book on it and learn a few things.
@unworthyBeatrix yep 100%. One of my biggest problems is how that systemic cisheteronormativity keeps coming back to bite me, usually when I'm not suspecting it, and at 3AM it wakes me up with "you're not a proper woman, you know, because X Y and or Z...". Man, fuck that guy 😞
@unworthyBeatrix It's awesome when the realization dawns that those two boxes labelled "male" and "female" are held together with spit and fairy dust by people who in turn get hurt by that... absolutely Matrix.

Like, no, I won't deny "biological sex" and differences, but I sure as hell will debate what that is, and that none of it has the inherent social implications that we're told.
