IT'S RIGHT THERE, CAPCOM.
I thought we had?
I'm _sure_ we have.
(And I don't mean Strider 2, the 3d version. I mean, I swear I have seen a remake.)
(Also, the original CPS1 game is just amazing, and I still enjoy the heck out of it.)
I'm gonna go look...
Yes, Strider, 2014, developer: Double Helix.
Maybe I missed something here? Like, that wasn't really Strider, it was a horrible not-strider packaged as strider? (I haven't played it.)
That's what I was missing (:
And yeah, I don't know that they CAN do another one, unless... well.
Yeah, you're right. They totally can.
(Just like the Final Fantasy folks could freaking remake Final Fantasy Tactics. )
I want to make a tactics style game (on hexes) for the c64. Probably also the msx and Amiga. Possibly some others, but mainly the c64. Maybe NES/SNES/Genesis. But mainly c64, because of the challenge of doing that one well (which, ok, the NES would also be a challenge.)
However, after the challenge of the coding (and the artwork, which will _need_ to be excellent, and is where most of the challenge lies for the c64, as "number of colors" is a thing) there is the issue of the _story._ Because that _matters._
And of course the gameplay. Which is gonna need some ... you know. work for the computer players. And I ain't using AI to create that, fsck no.
Soundtrack: ok yeah that's gonna be an issue too but there are enough c64 musicians today that I probably will be able to get "something" which meets expectations.
I need spoons. Ain't got any. Not saying "hey tell me how to get spoons back" cuz y'all have done that quite a bit. Just saying "this is a plan."
