For those who do not know me: I'm in eighteenth-century studies with approaches from book history, women's lit, and digital humanities and I dabble quite a bit in studies in sexuality, empire, and colonialism.

One of the big differences is that Mastodon runs on hashtags. If you edit your intro post to include the hashtag #/introduction, and you add a list of tags for your interests at the bottom, it will help likeminded people find you here more quickly. You can also subscribe to hashtags.
The @feditips account is also great to follow for lots of advice to get you settled in here.
