I’m looking for advice on printing and framing photos for sale/gallery display. It’s just so expensive to get something done professionally, and store-bought frames always look cheap. I can’t realistically expect someone to buy one of my photos for $300 or $400 even though that’s what I would have to charge to just break even with the gallery’s cut. What do other non-pros do when you want to show your work professionally? #photography #photographyadvice #filmphotography
@JoanArkham I know she’s not on here (or really most other socials these days), but Angela does her own matting and framing, I think. Maybe you could ping her for advice? (Also, I wonder if Exposed’s favorite framer, Apex is still around?)
@samerfarha They’re not, I looked. That’s exactly what I need though! I had a horrible experience at a strip mall framing place, they refused to tell me the cost up front and wanted 3 weeks to do it (and were rude, to boot).
@JoanArkham ugh. That sucks. I wonder if @heathermg has someone to recommend (she pops in here occasionally but you might have better luck on insta)
@JoanArkham There are some online framers like Art to Frame. You can get custom mattes cut and frames made.
