Stealing this idea from @theleakypen - I have 176 pages of AO3 bookmarks, starting in May 2013. Pick a page and I'll pick a fic from that page. (It's entirely possible that a good half of these pages are MDZS/CQL.)

#FicRecs

@Raene 100!

@theleakypen

Got stuck between 3 on the list, but finally went for the last one of page 100:

long have you been alone by #martyrsdaughter

long have you been alone - martyrsdaughter - 魔道祖师 - 墨香铜臭 | Módào Zǔshī - Mòxiāng Tóngxiù [Archive of Our Own]

An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works

@Raene holy shit that is a single chapter novel 👀
@Raene @theleakypen omg I wish authors didn't do that

@enk_dash_one @theleakypen I do live in fear of the page reloading and losing my place when reading those directly on AO3. Downloading in epub and reading that way, then going back to kudos is one way around it.

I tend to frequently read all in one go even with big fics, so less chances of getting lost for me due to that, but that's definitely not a universal tendency!

@enk_dash_one @theleakypen I still prefer chaptered to all in one load. Preferring Entire Work view for multi-chaptered is not something I can wrap my head around. 😅

@Raene @theleakypen yeah from an accessibility standpoint, fics like that might as well not exist because I cannot read them.

...and from purely a writing standpoint, I'd assume there was a pacing problem.

@enk_dash_one @Raene @theleakypen
I'm so happy to hear I'm not the only one who finds 50k words in one chapter difficult to handle
@76katriina @enk_dash_one @Raene you absolutely are not
@theleakypen @76katriina @Raene agreed, it's very difficult to parse, especially reading on mobile (and having to do a whole bunch of extra work in order to make something okay for me to read? Might as well read something else, this fandom has so much fic)
@enk_dash_one @theleakypen Oooh, yeah, I could definitely see that much in one page being an accessibility issue, and that really bites. 😞
