@GovTrack Interestingly the protection of parents’ rights in public schools do not extend to parent’s rights for their children to be safe from guns.

We have to be clear about what the limits of #ParentsRights in education are, and what the countervailing interests are: #ChildrensRights and #Democracy

@GovTrack But only the rights of certain radicalized parents. Freedom to read, to learn, and to be yourself are considered dangerous by these parents who want to use this law to persecute others.

@GovTrack Protection of parent’s right shouldn’t come at a cost for every other student. If a parent objects to something, cool, have their kid have alternative. Don’t cancel the whole thing because of one complaint.

Jehovah’s Witnesses cannot say the pledge of allegiance due to religious beliefs. Have an alternative for them.

Some religions can’t do frog dissection, have an alternative for them.

The problem arises when we pass this crap but not fund alternatives.
