Question for #AuthorsOfMastodon, #agents, #WritingCommunity, #publishers, and anyone else who's willing to help:

I have a draft SF novel in late revisions. It's very queer, and test readers have been receiving it (samples or full draft) very positively. I'm getting ready to try and find it a home.

It's also my first novel.

How does one find a reputable agent, ideally someone queer, who can help me get this book the best shot of really succeeding?

@Impossible_PhD I'm in your situation, and had a writer friend turn me on to #Duotrope. The agent search there is really powerful, and you can get specifics on who responds, and how long it takes, and often they accept/reject work.

I've been surprised at the number of agents there who are either queer or actively seeking LGBTQ+ voices. Anyway, it's another "jumping off point" for you to try (free for a week, $5.00 per month if you like it).
