An occasionally boring but often necessary task when proofreading is to make sure that all headings and subheadings are formatted and capitalized in the same way.

I like to make a section in the style sheet for how different layers of text are treated. Then I'll go through the manuscript and look at each heading/subheading to make sure it's formatted properly. It's best to do this as a separate proofreading pass if possible.
