The Fediverse—including its Twitter-like Mastodon service—is a decentralized collection of servers that communicate over an open protocol. The idea isn’t new, but it’s gained traction as centralized social networks like Twitter, Facebook, and Tiktok find themselves mired in controversy.

@mastodonmigration @tchambers This part is strange:

“I’m not interested in any protocol besides ActivityPub,” he says. “Anyone working on brand new protocols in 2023 should stop immediately. They are going to do more harm than good.”

Especially since the ActivityPub group has been inactive for years.
