Its on Congress to raise the debt ceiling. I'd republicans don't want to pass a clean bill and was cut spending into a recession. That's on them. I'd rather go into default and not pay their constituents who own all the bonds and stocks. We'll pay for Medicare instead. Podunk community banks are free to fail, but most of them have less than 50 billion dollars so thamwy are free from regulation even under the full Dodd frank law pre 2018. Yes there is different treatment, but that treatment comes with increased regulation
