Its on Congress to raise the debt ceiling. I'd republicans don't want to pass a clean bill and was cut spending into a recession. That's on them. I'd rather go into default and not pay their constituents who own all the bonds and stocks. We'll pay for Medicare instead. Or they can be grown ups and pass a clean budget bill and clean debt ceiling increase

Podunk community banks are free to fail, but most of them have less than 50 billion dollars so thamwy are free from regulation even under the full Dodd frank law pre 2018. Yes there is different treatment, but that treatment comes with increased regulation

No the issue is that he knew she couldn't say every uninsured depositor will be backstopped - that is the gotcha.
Even though in practice anyone in trouble will be... but mathematically, they can't cover every uninsured if everyone is in trouble simultaneously.
