I'm slightly irritated by #mastodon clients. I don't remember seeing any client that would show what you have read and what you haven't. Things kind of work if the client doesn't scroll back to latest toot.
If it does jump to latest toot, I have to first read toots first in reverse order. When I arrive to latest toot that I read last time, I have to scroll up until I find the place that I last read before going through the old toots and then reverse the reading order again.
Slack seem to combine best of both worlds. If you're falling behind, there's button you can press it to jump to latest posts. It keeps quite good track where you were and on top of that, there's clearly visible line that shows where the last message you read is.
Too bad #whalebird hasn't cloned those features from Slack, even when it's Slack clone.
Not that Microsoft understands these things either, Teams doesn't remember where you were and the line is bit too low contrast so it's easy to miss.
