@pollytics do you ever think back to the media140 conference in like, 2009?, where you were on stage debating NBN technology with Turnbull? Admittedly a pretty niche event but with so many media people in one place I often wonder what a sliding doors moment that could’ve been if the moderator hadn’t stepped it to cut the conversation off https://eigenmagic.net/@NewtonMark/109998625375666320

Attached: 1 image Here’s a 48 hour period at my house from a couple of weeks ago showing HFC reliability. Red bands are outages, ranging from a couple of minutes to 40 minutes. Even if it’s capable of being used for work videoconferencing, I can’t *trust* that it’ll be usable for work videoconferencing. This is *normal* for NBN HFC. It behaves like this for a few days, then I have a few weeks of relative stability, then back to shit again. Random. Why wouldn’t I just dump it and switch to mobile?

If the convo wasn't cut off, he just would have gone further into the Sulky Malcolm hole as everyone in the audience continued to laugh at his nonsensical bullshit. Nothing would have changed with the media - soft liberalism has always had infinite excuses for Turnbull. It would have been fun from my end, but I reckon still ultimately meaningless.

@pollytics yeah, too true. Your realism has always been appreciated.

Flattery will get you everywhere! 😄
