Do we want a war in China?

No.

Do we need a war in China?

Not ideally .

Are we going to war with China?

Not our call.

China is suffering from a lot of problems, with protests from pensioners and mortgage holders, to drought and weakening economy. It has banged the war drum for domestic reasons and a war, if it starts, will be for internal political reasons, mainly to unite population.

China will lose more in a Sino Australian war with loss in food, energy and resources that it needs.

@Voradams China will always have the need to look inwards. I’d say there’s an equal chance that an external war could cause internal destabilisation.

@Wilso agreed. However humans don't often act logically when they perceive their survival is in the line, especially when they are indoctrinated as much as the CCP.

But saying this, the US is probably in the same boat, if not more so, due to having a good military for winning wars (if shockingly bad at winning peace afterwards)
