Well the #bbc really have nailed their flag to wrong side today.
Removing Gary #Lineker and David #Attenborough from broadcast to appease the government is not the role of a public broadcaster.
No longer can it be considered the nations broadcaster, it’s now nothing more than a government media service.
And well done to Ian Wright for refusing to bail out the #bbc and stand in for Gary Lineker. Let’s hope other presenters have the same morals.
Respect to Alan Shearer too. #bbc have misjudged this so, so much.
@xannov football fans should also desist from tuning in. If the BBC wants to be a government organ we should follow the example of the good men and women supporters of LFC and tell the BBC where they can stick it.
#bbc #motd #garylineker
@Mooster I’ve not watched MOTD for years, but I agree.
If the #bbc decided not to broadcast it due to ‘staffing issues’ how many MPs would start to hear complaint from their constituents?
@xannov I used to be a big consumer of #bbc output. Since 2016 I haven’t watched or listened to any of their news/current affairs programmes. The way they have pandered to the cult that is the Tory Party has horrified and disgusted me in equal measure. What a sad outcome for what I previously considered a great national institution.
@Mooster Yes, same here. I’ve not watched their ‘news’ output for over 6 years. It was once the best broadcaster in the world, but now…
