I am completely obsessed with Peace Walker. I think this just shot to the top of my favorite MGS games ever.

And yet.

It's like they've buried it. No joke, playing this game goes something like "oh yeah just get an Xbox one and use backwards compatibility to play 'MGS PW' (must type that exactly not 'Metal Gear') which is an HD remake of a PSP game but the PSP game itself is terrible because of the lack of analog controls"

How is the best MGS game this buried? Put it on PC or sumtin OH MY GOD

@glassbottommeg Absolutely agree! The graphic novel cut-scenes have been really inspirational to my own game. Peace Walker was so cool on the PSP. I think the only way I can now play it is - erm - on my MGS Collection disc on my dusty PS3! 😭

@codapill yep! You gotta either have a PS3, an Xbox 360, or you gotta get it onto a newer Xbox (you can buy it in the store) with the backwards compatibility.

I THINK that's also true for Series S/X? Like I think those can also play the compatible 360 games? So maybe it's not as tragic as it could be. But still, it's called literally "MGS PW", so you can barely find it in a search. Just. COME ONNNNNN.

@codapill Also yeah, I wasn't sure about the cutscenes at first, but holy crap they're so well done. And the goofy interactive ones are so fun. The QTE ones, bleh, I'll pass, but the "aim the gun" kind of thing? That's hilariously cool!
@glassbottommeg It's insane that we don't have all MGS games on pc and current gen (or even old gen) by this point. It's like Konami hates money.

@glassbottommeg Counter-point:

Right now, the only legacy Metal Gear game you can legally buy on a modern console is Peace Walker. On Xbox, the other two games are listed, but not purchasable. Because of archival footage in the games that Konami just doesn't feel like relicensing.

@glassbottommeg Peace Walker has my fav characters you can really see it as a predecessor for 5 with so much potential. Waiting for konami to make the hd collection version available again 🥲.
