Discord is getting in on the "AI" trend with testing of new features utilizing user data scraping, potentially for training a large language model. To disable the only settings which might affect your data being utilized for this, go to the Privacy & Safety section of your Settings. From there, toggle off both "Use data to improve Discord" and "Use data to customize my Discord experience."
@Texan_Reverend I'm curious about Guilded or Matrix, and whether these are viable alternatives for people wanting to leave Discord
@Catwoman69y2k @Texan_Reverend I am doing some research on this. I'd really like some #alternatives to #rocket.chat and #Jitsi. Especially if it has some form of #TTRPG integration.
@tikke @Texan_Reverend I think that Discord and Guilded are very much similar in what their mechanics are (e.g. the idea of opening a server and then creating channels (rooms) that relate to sub topics. The major difference being that Guilded abd Matrix chat doesn't have anything like Nitro. Maybe Discord has some extras that these don't but not big deal things, in my book.
@Catwoman69y2k @Texan_Reverend i've been using Matrix for over a year and it's an entirely different experience from discord. instead of getting blasted by a high-pressure hose of random BS, it's an actual social platform!

@shitpostalotl @Texan_Reverend I have begun to just start using it more. Back in 2017-2019 I had tried using Matrix for a collaboration group. Sadly, I couldnt get the team to leave Slack but I thoight about its potential.

So far I have run into furs.chat and cyberfurz homeservers. The former seems to only have a general room but I'm hoping they will break out some tertiary channels for specific side interests and cross-over interests
