So... last night I pointed out that @filipeesposito, the editor for 9to5Mac made some pretty embarrassing factual errors in an article about Bluesky... and rather than fix those factual errors... he (1) blocked me on mastodon and (2) left the story as is.

In the past I had always considered 9to5Mac and its related publications to be credible sources of news, but now I feel the need to re-evaluate that.

Reporters make mistakes. We all do. It's how you *respond* that matters.

I don't understand why anyone uses a Mac, or makes a website about Macs. I had to use a Mac for my job for a few years. It was horrible.

@newsorpigal @mmasnick @filipeesposito Sounds like it was the wrong tool for the job(s)? That’s like saying, “I don’t know why anyone would drive a Prius. I am a construction worker and have to haul tons of building materials to my work site every day. Using the Prius was awful. And because it was awful for me and my line of work, it must be awful for everyone and their respective lines of work.”

Kinda silly.

@brandon @mmasnick @filipeesposito

Depends on what the problem was. Mac is simply a low-quality product. Doing even the simplist things is difficult, if what you are trying to do is not blessed by Apple's designers.

Prius is a good car BTW.
