The Books app is a poster child for the unreliability of iCloud sync 😔 It just doesn’t work, and clogs up sync for the entire OS when it’s busy. End up having to force quit it to see changes
@stroughtonsmith Yup. Drives me mad. I use the books app when I get a new script submitted as a PDF to read. But it takes forever to straighten things out once imported.
@stroughtonsmith And the Mac version is a poster child for how bad a Catalyst app can be if you don’t put any effort into making it work like a Mac app.
@stroughtonsmith Nah, Photos is still my undefeated Champion in that area of expertise…
@stroughtonsmith you don’t like randomly not having access to offline books?
@stroughtonsmith Plus, on a Mac, it forces all your library to exist on your root drive. No way to shift to external or network drive.
@stroughtonsmith I wasn’t aware that this was a widely known issue. I thought it was just my iPads and my Mac acting up with the iCloud account. Thanks for talking about it (I can see other people confirming it in this thread, too, which is just as interesting).
@stroughtonsmith it has always bugged me how unreliable it is with wifi only iPads. I used to read on the train, and the fact that it never updated my progress after reconnecting to Wifi always caused UX sadness.
