Perhaps I've been raised to expect a man in a dress to be more trustworthy than a 'preacher' in a business suit but does word of corruption at #Hillsong really surprise anybody?

Their 'services' look like marketing scams & their congregations look like fans at a rock concert. To me it screams, 'con artist' or 'scam'.

Federal MP alleges Hillsong Church broke financial laws

Independent MP Andrew Wilkie has accused the Hillsong Church of fraud, money laundering and tax evasion. Hillsong denies the allegations.

@Neil1808 The facts themselves are far from surprising but Wilkie presenting 'proof' under parliamentary privilege is a definite development. May start a conversation on tax reform for 'charities'.
@Neil1808 The ‘fans’ are the real problem. How? How can so many be duped. What’s the motivation to attend? Company; a win over those that don’t or is it just plain stupidity? It’s a demographic that continues to grow with ‘influencers’ and sociopaths running amok. What’s very unsettling, is the pretty clear evidence that MSM are either in one camp or the other. #sideshowalley

#Religion seems to have a special status in society so I try to refrain from criticising the leaders of these groups.

However, #Psychology Today recommends the development of a 12 step program for religious & political fanatics like the one alcoholics use (or at least AA).
