Little life hack for you here, doubly useful when traveling. Timer Caps for your pills. They also reset the timer when you open them. Absolutely awesome. https://amzn.to/3ZBW7n8 #ref
@shanselman Clever and simple. But being a forgetful nerd, I need something that reminds me both to take my pills and schedule refills (stupid #ADHD meds only allow a 30-day supply with a narrow <5 day window to order more), so I use this #Medisafe app: https://medisafe.app.link/UTkNUSe9Sxb
@mjgardner @shanselman ...that sounds like a stupid restriction for someone with ADHD :p
@wmspringer @shanselman Gotta stop all those addicts from abusing a drug that’s so addictive that people forget to reorder it
@shanselman These look great, thanks!
@shanselman OMG yes. @karenmcgrane pointed me to these when I joked about daily ADHD mets being a tautological challenge, and they've been a huge help.

@shanselman but is it useful when TIME traveling? ;-)

Kidding, this is a great idea. I'd love to see some open source hardware designs for it, to print at home.

@shanselman interesting idea but only makes sense for you guys in the US where your get the pills in this form. Here in Austria nearly every medication in pill form are sold as blister to press out single pills.
@macf00bar @shanselman So we need something like the feeders used in SMT pick-and-place machines?
@macf00bar @shanselman I guess transfer from blisters to these bottles? Does take some upfront time.
@shanselman I did not know these existed. Good for older relatives too.
@shanselman can you set them NOT to open before a certain time? So I won't eat all the food...
@shanselman Nice. I know someone who might want one of these.
@shanselman someone did a good thing here, amazing 🤯
@shanselman If they could do that with insulin pens (also tracking the last dose)... wow.
@shanselman I love love love timer caps 💯⏰💊
@feynudibranch @shanselman Oh wow - they sound perfect for my father. I'll have to pick some up next time I'm in the US, in the UK the only things similar cost (checks notes) - nearly $100 each 😱
@martinwoodward @shanselman how the hell do they expect you to remember if you took your meds in the UK?! 😨
@feynudibranch @shanselman tbh I don’t remember the last time they were dispensed in those little bottles either. Ours are typically in blister packs so probably why they don’t sell them here. But the medication is also typically free at point of use here so there is that.
@feynudibranch @shanselman Dad has alarms for regular meds, but these would be perfect for pain meds for him as he worries so much about taking too many so he ends up not taking enough when he needs them. I could transfer a bunch into those little bottles for him once a week and he won’t need to worry about it anymore.
@shanselman this is actually reeeeally cool. 💜
