Me: Electronic calendars, whether on my desktop or on my phone, can’t replace my good old-fashioned paper calendar with my specific notes and annotations keying my memory to essential issues

Also me: who the fuck is Joel and what am I doing to or with him at 11

@Popehat I have a wall calendar which I started using ever since Gary Larson started making the Far Side cartoons again, but alas, no Far Side calendar for 2023. 😢
@Popehat You kill my access to my electronic calendar, I might as well move to Alaska and start a new life, under a new name. Because I will not remember what I am supposed to do with this one, anyway.
@locksmithprime @Popehat Agreed. Shared calendars are the best. Can see if I've got something planned that I wasn't informed about when I'm trying to plan something else. Keeps me out of trouble with the other half... Also helps for when I forget to tell her about something I planned..
@Tedgarrison3 @Popehat And birthdays and anniversaries. I already normalized with everyone that I do not memorize those dates anymore. They are all in the calendar, or must be. I need the memory space for other things. :)
@Popehat It's okay, hopefully Zoë I. will send a reminder of which timezone 11 was in 😛
@Popehat Just checked my calendar, and it is definitely not me.
@Popehat here's a pic so you don't miss him
@Popehat You'll recognize him when you see him, and then you'll know why you've had a hatchet under the passenger seat in the car for the past couple weeks.
@Popehat I used to carry a notepad and pencil to make sure I took down information while it was still at the front of my mind because my autistic ass will immediately move on to the next shiny thing and forget all about what I was supposed to do a week from now. Electronic calendars are a necessity for me because of the instant access. I’ve never been able to make a paper calendar work for me.
@Popehat 🤣 Paper anything has never worked for me.
@Popehat @Joelsherman1 is first on my list at Mastodon when I type in Joel, so you probably missed a meeting with him.
@Popehat the only thing I know about lawyering is from watching 7 seasons of Suits, so clearly the real answer is to hire a legal secretary to manage your life and occasionally be a plot point.
@Popehat the yellow post-it notes on my desk have the same issue.
@Popehat spot on. That is me too.
@Popehat
Well? Who's Joel, and what did you two do?
