I honestly think that's probably legit traffic, pushed over by Twitter being borked. It was mostly just glitches & seemed to get a lot better in a time frame consistent with fastly scaling to meet demand.

It's not necessarily easy to tell the difference quickly, especially when there's a CDN in the mix. AFAIK he hasn't said anything since. 🤷

Everything is back to normal now. Yes, it was an attack, not legitimate traffic. No, we don't know who was behind it. I agree the timing with Twitter being down was unfortunate.
