Oh heck yeah!
Cities: Skylines II coming later this year:
What I'm most excited about that I'm inferring from the announcement:
* Season-cycling
* Vastly-improved graphics (even tho I'll have to upgrade my rig)
* Transportation and economy changes
* More flexible city layouts
What I'm I'm hoping for:
* Water-simulation improvements
* More narratives/stories - a way to create -experiences- for your Cims that aren't just head-canon
* Released before October
I absolutely adore Cities:Skylines, but I do feel like I'm just building the same city over and over again: start with a boring grid to maximize utility, profit, and growth, then make more "interesting" choices after you've established a good income and have built up sufficient infrastructure.
It's a building sim, I know, and it's not as much fun without those early limitations (I don't have the discipline to not over-build with unlimited money/unlocks). But still...
... I would love some more flexibility/options early on.
Like, if you decide you're going to build a rural city, you're gonna have a hard time getting enough Cims to unlock more buildings. Typically, I have to build my "starter city" first, and only after a good long while can I expand out to building suburbs or rural outposts.
It's rewarding (or I'm just addicted), but there's an opportunity for more flexibility. Damned if I know how to design it, but I think CO does.
Watched this trailer again a few more times. Dear lord please don’t let them f**k this up 😂
I’m really excited, and V1 will always be there if I need it, but “new” will always give me that itch to try it out.
But it did take me a really long time to get into Cities:Skylines to the degree I currently am. Hopefully that knowledge is transferable.
