hey cis people

shit's really ramping up with this whole trans genocide

you're gonna start seeing a lot of posts where trans people are trying to crowdfund an escape from one of the places where they're actively being genocided

if you're wondering what can you do to materially help trans people survive the arriving shitstorm... BOOST THESE POSTS

your boost could be the one that makes a difference and puts it in front of the right person to donate

i don't care what weird ideas capitalism has implanted in your head about "begging" but now more than ever mutual aid will be important

you need to see past the indoctrination and help your fellow humans

there's nothing wrong with asking for help when you're in need, especially in times like these

also obviously consider donating if you're in a position to do so

any amount can make a huge difference

i didn't mention that in the main post because character limit and also i wanted to stick to something more widely applicable but yeah

also, just boost trans peoples' crowdfunding/mutual aid requests in general

even the ones for stuff like surgery or hair removal or whatever

being trans is fucking expensive and trans people tend to be poor as fuck

and for some of us dysphoria can be a huge pain and we deserve comfort as much as anyone else

and y'know what? just boost all crowdfunding/mutual aid requests period in fact

because at the end of the day, we ALL deserve to survive

if you'd like to actively seek out posts like this to boost

there are a few hashtags you can follow and/or browse

#TransCrowdFund and #MutualAid being the two big ones

or you could follow me as i boost every one of these i see, even ones from the lesser-used hashtags and non-tagged ones i just happen to see on the timeline

@vantablack boost them and by god donate to them. if u have $5 to spare, give it to a trans person. it helps more than youd think
Second Period Anti-trans Legislative Risk Map

We move deeper into the legislative cycle as we begin to take stock of the states passing anti-trans laws. Momentum has slowed in some states. In others, things are heating up.

Erin In The Morning

@vantablack I am willing to go as far as preparing my other bedroom to help people relocate if that's necessary.

I'm not set up for this now, but this is a priority for me now.

@emc2 @vantablack @BernieWonIowa I have thought abt this more than once

My shared bldg has a "Guest Apt" for short-term rentals at my expense. 2 weeks max, but better than nothing

I simply don't have enough connections/trust/rep to make it useful, and there are other complications in my life (and online identity) in the way

@jhwgh1968 @vantablack @BernieWonIowa anything of this nature is going to be imperfect. I have hard limits for job reasons, for example.

Remember, it's not about being perfect, it's about doing what you can, where you can, however you can, for as long as you can.

@vantablack in addition to those recommendations, go to your town, school and local legislative meetings -many of the really egregious rulings start at the local level where there isn’t always press coverage. When we are complacent, our communities can become unsafe right under our noses.

@vantablack

COSIGN +10000.

Only thing I can add to that is to extend that empathy to include not only trans folk catching the maximum Hell right now, but ALL marginalized people, including disabled, working poor, and the otherwise underprivileged.

@vantablack

Cis person here.

I disagreed with some of the things you advocate down there along the whole thread, but am boosting the main post as I totally support its message. Thank you for the important post.

Stay safe.
