It’s still mindblowing to me that all Godot iterations, incl 4.0, only take about 5 seconds to open up a new empty project while Unity (2020 and above) takes about a minute on the same machine.

I know it wont be a thing but I wished there would be console export out of the box with Godot, would probably switch immediately or at least look into it more.

Hate the fact that Unity became my personal sunken cost fallacy 😩

@slawadeisling I feel you. Still want to look at good 2d engines but Godot ain't it for me.

@Mnerurkar mhm, can you elaborate a bit why Godot isnt for you as of now?

And did you look at potential alternatives, if so, can you recommend anything?
I’m monitoring the development of Luxe-Engine, seems promising, heard of that?

@slawadeisling Well, the paradigm of "everything is a node" just didn't vibe with me. I did look at luxe and I know someone on the team but that is still a ways away before it's in a state that it works for me too. So I was looking at 2d anyway, since that would be a good reason for a second engine - something nimble for 2d games. Construct is a thing I want to play with at some point for that reason. There's also DEFOLD that popped up during my research.
@Mnerurkar @slawadeisling Give yourself some more time to learn nodes - they really are very straightforward *once* they click for your Unity-brain. I was the same, where it was just confusing for my Unity-brain, until after a few days of light messing around it suddenly clicked that you just replace the 'combine multiple components on multiple objects to make a final thing' with just 'combine multiple objects to make a thing'.
@OscarRobin @slawadeisling i did play with godot over a few weeks and it never really felt right. I‘m afriad.
