@anirvan Ah yes. I am one of those. Been dealing with it since 2012. Doesn’t annoy me much now, and was even pleasantly surprised when last month passing through Heathrow, the security person even knew FNU meant First Name Unknown. Remember watching John Oliver talking about it in a segment on this back in the day.

@anirvan I grew up in an old Italian neighborhood, and this reminds me of a story they would tell of immigration authorities stamping their papers With out Passport, that led to a common Italian slur.

Apparently "name bifurcation" is also a thing. But shouldn't it be "LNU" for Last Name Unknown instead, since the names on the passport are their first names?
