After law school, my first job took me from #Chicago Illinois to Davenport, #Iowa. Some of my friends were poking fun at me over moving from a "real" city like Chicago to "middle-of-nowhere" Iowa. But I pointed out that Iowa was a great state which had just legalized gay marriage, while it was still banned in Illinois.

This week, bills introduced in Iowa seek to amend the state constitution to ban #gay and #trans marriage. Iowa has lost its way and become a bastion of hate and backwardness.
