Instead of: "No one wants to work anymore."

Try: "No one wants to be exploited anymore."

Damn right!
What if a "captive tiger" suddenly remembers that it is supposed to live wild and free?
@rbreich
Also, a boatload of us are dead, totally, completely dead, you know, from a virus that tends to kill frontline workers willing to do the most virus-spready jobs. #CovidIsNotOver #SARSCoV2
@rbreich this is very rich. Thanks 🙏.
@rbreich Right Wingers: "Unless you're one of the Ruling Elite, exploitation is the only game in town. Get used to it or starve..."
@rbreich If we can glean anything even slightly positive from a pandemic that claimed so many lives, it is that front line direct service workers gained leverage by not being easily replaceable.
@rbreich Your auto-tooter is stuck--it keeps tooting the same thing every day.
@rbreich
Exactly, many Canadian employers are starting to pay more. A donut shop across the street (Monster Donut) pays a living wage, makes everything from scratch and has line ups around the corner as people support the model.
Amazon started a $20 an hour hiring campaign, many restaurants are stepping up as well.
We're far from perfect, the working poor are still a problem and need higher paying positions, but slowly things get better.
