@MATAK79 TCM plays it now and again; first caught it on a screening of TCM Underground a couple years back. Real gritty drama film with some legitimately strong performances. Interesting culture time capsule too! 😁👍📼

@MATAK79 Cruising's great! Been meaning to give it a rewatch one of these days. Love how Pacino managed to do a lot of really awesome subversive roles without it really negatively impacting him when it came to the more commercial stuff!
@SchlocklusterVideo yeah I couldn’t of said it better myself. I think the social landscape has changed a bit too. I mean you’re talking about the 70s where anything went and there was no social media, lol and no moral majority. Ha
@MATAK79 Truth! Could kind of go off and make your arthouse / grindhouse project without much ripples! Whole collapse of the Hays code during that time also had a lot of pent up demand for more risqué stuff among theater-goers too, imo! Interesting time in film history!
@SchlocklusterVideo what made me think of it was that new season of American horror story that took place with like the gay scene in New York in the 80s they did a really good job with that.
@MATAK79 I was thinking "Cruising" from episode 1 with that season! Nowhere near enough gay horror / noir genre fusion out there, and they really pulled off the pastiche wonderfully in this season.
