I sometimes wondered why buses on my route often don’t have their live tracking showing on the Transit app. Yesterday I learned that they drop off the tracking if they are 10 minutes late! That’s pretty annoying on a long route where the bus only runs hourly and often gets a bit behind- I still want to know where it is! Thought I’d alert other #Ōtepoti people who don’t know. #BusTracking
@simplicitarian
Oh, really? Well that's useful.
Do you know if they do the same thing when excessively early
Also on a route which is mostly hourly. And mostly use private transport as a result
@RedRobyn It says it’s only for delays. It is not supposed to run early and that’s grounds for a complaint- so annoying eh.
@simplicitarian
In my experience they can go by quite "early".
Note that they have very few time checks along most routes, so when I've complained in the past unless it left the time point at the start of my run ahead of time it's not early

@simplicitarian
8 buses cancelled on our route today, including all 3 between 6.30 pm and 10.30 pm.

This experience is going to severely impact my kiddo's willingness to bus over from their flat to water my plants while I am away

@RedRobyn All 3 is really hopeless 😡 I emailed ORC tonight about the dropping off Transit app thing. Will be interesting to see the response 🤔
