You don't need to look to Nazi Germany to understand that the people firing professors who don't teach the "right" ideas & threatening librarians do not believe in democracy.

Democracy is grounded on debate, compromise, & electoral contests for power. And it's being savaged, step by step.

@jbf1755 Genuine education is essential for democracy. People have to learn how to think, reason inquire if they are to engage in debate, recognize worthwhile compromise, and effectively evaluate candidates running for office. (I know you know this, but you got me thinking in Deweyian terms.)
