I am happy to announce that #JKULinz is one of the two academic institution founding members of the OpenWallet Foundation: https://openwallet.foundation/sponsors/,

We have been working on decentralized digital identities for years, and this is an effort to form an open source basis for future, interoperable credential wallets. In parallel to international standards, components for open, transparent implementations are important parts.

@rene_mobile ...is there also a relation with the coming EU wallet ?

@ErikJonker Our hope is that implementations of such wallets - that include the eIDAS etc. aspects - would be able to build on the common open source components, and therefore won't have to continuously re-invent the basis while being free to add additional, nationally important functionality.

However, we obviously don't control or steer such developments, we only try to help with getting the security and transparency of the common basis right.
