I think Bluesky is DOA. Took way too long for them to ship anything and now it's got the stink of Twitter 2.0 all over it (maybe not fair but 🤷‍♂️).

Twitter’s decentralized alternative Bluesky arrives as an invite-only iOS app

Bluesky, the open-source social network that emerged within Twitter, is now available as an invite-only app on the Apple App Store, hinting at the possibility of a wider release coming soon.

@paul I don't associate it with Twitter 2.0 since it was spun off well before Elon took over. I like how they are handling identity... Even with ActivityPub so established, there may still be room for another protocol.
@manton in my mind, had crypto stink before, has Twitter stink now.

@paul @manton

Dorsey stink is not to be ignored either.

No, Elon and Jack are not “competitors.” They’re collaborating.

Wherein I attempt to clarify a number of ridiculous and false narratives currently taking hold about Musk and Dorsey’s “rivalry.”

@roo_44 @paul That's interesting, thanks for the link. I think Jack Dorsey has already moved on from Bluesky to Nostr, which is totally wild west and maybe too far of a correction from the centralized nature of Twitter.

@manton

That’s the game get it going, get it to ipo and get to the next one💰
