I sometimes wondered why buses on my route often don’t have their live tracking showing on the Transit app. Yesterday I learned that they drop off the tracking if they are 10 minutes late! That’s pretty annoying on a long route where the bus only runs hourly and often gets a bit behind- I still want to know where it is! Thought I’d alert other #Ōtepoti people who don’t know. #BusTracking
Erin Young, PhD@simplicitarian Also - they drop off the tracker if they have to take a slightly different route for a block or two due to roadworks closures… says the parent of an anxious teen that contacts me excessively when they’re panicking that they missed the bus after school. I’ve watched them pop on and off the tracker.
@simplicitarian - thankfully she can take any one of about 4 routes that get her close enough to where she’s going for her after school activity to walk the rest of the way. Getting home on other days is another story however!?! But there would be a riot if that one got cancelled (main route to Mosgiel).
