The #ToryParty has fully internalised the concept of:

"By whatever means necessary."

That's what:

1. Makes it, to date, the most successful political party IN THE WORLD;

2. Makes it so incredibly dangerous, as it's prepared to lie & decieve to win.

IMO, There's only one way consistently to counteract/defeat that:

Swallow hard and do the same...by any means necessary.

(#Moral_High_Grounds haven't worked. Ever.)

@fencoul shame Bevan/Attlee didn't have the confidence in the Labour movement to introduce PR when they could. I guess he feared, as Labour have ever since, that without the bogeyman of the Tory party for voters to vote against, Labour would be unable to persuade enough of the population to vote for them.

👆 When you're a big fish in a 2-fish pond (plus some minnows, plankton, amoeba & algae) it's hard to switch to being 1-of-many in a many-fish pond.

Requires (ahem!) a commitment to actual (ahem! again) democracy.
