@StevenBeschloss The brain is a remarkable piece of machinery, but our cells decay and there is the deterioration risk with no way to forecast when this will malfunction. Five years is a long time and at the age of 80 Biden should leave the table gracefully.

The average age of an S&P director is 62. Of the S&P 500 companies that do have a mandatory retirement age in place, 88 % set that age at 72 or older and 33 % set it at 75 or older, according to Bloomberg ESG Data.

@StevenBeschloss I have very mixed feelings about a second term, but one thing is clear: a President with younger children, or a sense that they have a lot more of their life to live, is way less likely to get on that train to Ukraine.

He needs independent opposition. I will run, if no one else will.

@StevenBeschloss I’m a baby-boomer. I am assisting my more-elderly-then-me, parents. I am experiencing and witnessing the challenges, small and large, physical and mental that are a natural part of aging. For this reason, although I thank God for Joe Biden’s current leadership, I will not support his future candidacy for President. Age is not kind to our physical and cognitive abilities. It’s time for the Democratic Party to develop a younger candidate.

@StevenBeschloss Of course. I saw President Biden on a bike. I never saw Trump do anything physical like that. Biden’s speech was superb and he knows how to win again. He brings out Republican dirt and will not play nice. Democrats are bat shit crazy if they want to primary him. See Jimmy Carter in 1980.
