There’s an increase in antisemitic acts and a call for a National Day of Hate this weekend.

Let’s do the work of dismantling this hatred and pray for the safety of our Jewish friends and communities.

Examples follow.

#Antisemitism

[e.g. 1] A video appeared this week of “Goyim Defense League” members harassing Jews. They made the video themselves, and they know what they’re doing (i.e. applicable laws, staying on public space, using bullhorns to be heard).

They are in Florida, but likely want others to take up their tactics of harassing Jews as they exit shuls/community centers/etc. They avoid being the ones who cross the legal line, but they definitely are itching for a fight.

To be honest, I don’t know what can be done to stop/prevent this, but good gentiles need to be vocally against this and offer support to our Jewish neighbors.

[e.g. 2] When someone warns of violence against Jews in the US, don’t reply by turning this into a Palestine issue, because it is unrelated. Jews in America have no say in govt policies on the other side of the world. I covered this last time.
4/6

[e.g. 3] The guy who posted this *definitely* wants people to engage the post. Don’t… his goal is to grow an audience, and every click helps. He is inciting and using provocation.

He entered a Jewish space and began proselytizing about Jesus while recording himself. Another individual with more patience than me escorted him out; the video ends with text that claims the videographer was then assaulted.

Christians, does this help you see why proselytizing is harassment? Everyone you encounter in life already knows about Jesus; if they aren’t a Christian, it is not because *you* haven’t told them.

I’ll make a thread sometime unpacking proselytizing, but for now know that 1) proselytizing is not a loving act, and 2) the intent of the Great Commission does not condone harassment.

@ThisWeekInAS wish I could boost that like 100x
@kinsey
Hmm... maybe your instance administrator can work that out.
