This App Store First Look is just the beginning. We have a big appetite to make Mammoth a beautiful Mastodon app for the rest of us. We’re a small startup team with a long history in the indie dev community: Shihab (@JPEGuin), deeply steeped in Apple culture: Riley (@rileyhBat), open source: Mark (@mmayo), and building apps used by hundreds of millions: Bart (@bart). Our focus is on the end-to-end user experience we can offer as we combine Mammoth with our Moth.social server and backend work.

@JPEGuin I have updated to the store version. I dont seem to be getting the new point counter displayed any more. New posts are just there when i scroll up but the numbered circle isn't displayed.

Edit: It seems to work intermittently.

@maffeis @JPEGuin @rileyhBat @bart we honestly don't know yet. A freemium model is an obvious answer, but it is not a magic bullet. We do look forward to trying to figure out a solution with the community, vs pretending we have all the answers (we don't).

i’m pretty wary of “free” software nowadays.

if the business model isn’t me paying or a government grant, it feels like it’ll eventually be selling my data.
