I thought I'd share some stats here.

- 18% of the UK's population lives with some sort of disability
- In the UK, 81% of People with disabilities has internet access
- 92% of the general population has internet access
- In 2021, it was estimated that revenue from UK online sales was £120 billion
- 18% * 81% / 92% = 15.8% of the UK's total internet population has a disability
- This means £19 billion of the online spend in the UK comes from users with a disability(s)

I hate having to reduce a large section of the population down to a monetary value but these numbers are what stakeholders are interested in when it comes to accessibility.

We should aim to ensure our sites are accessible as possible, just because it is the right thing to do.
