Masks work! Amazing study of 26 elementary schools that pulled wastewater samples every 15 minutes. Researchers observed the masked percentage in the school. “The odds of a positive wastewater signal in the 5 days after one of these observations decreased by 47% for each 10% increase in the proportion of people who were fully masked."

At the end of the thread she says a preprint isn’t complete yet, but they’re working on it.
“Just presented at #CROI2023: We counted the number of kids and adults fully masked at school and compared it to wastewater in covid. After correcting for background vaccination and case rates, masking was significantly associated with lower probability of covid+ 💩 (1/x)”
@arnandegans @augieray I think you might want to read it again. The 47% is linked to every 10% more wearing masks.
If we had everyone (as close to 100%) wearing them correctly and properly sized, then maybe high 90s.
