There's something special about kayaking at night. It's not just the quiet (and it was really quiet, the Γresund was like a millpond), but the way familiar places become very strange. It was hard to work out distances and being by myself was definitely on the brave-foolhardy axis somewhere.. The city looks very different too. Dr. Brad Rosenheim has moved!@Ruth_Mottram So, do you see other servers on #pixelfed or just the one you are hosted by? I just set up an account and there doesn't seem to be a way to search outside of the server I picked. (I realize I am asking a support-like question to a fellow user, but I was just curious if our experiences were the same). I also never used Instagram, so I am a complete neophyte.
@Brad_Rosenheim i think it's a bit like here, you have to follow people on other servers to see some activity there. It's certainly quieter on pixelfed though! I admit I haven't quite figured it out, because quite often pics seem to be from mastodon accounts rather than pixelfed, so I could also use some help with working out how they interconnect..
πππππ ππππ@Ruth_Mottram @pixelfed I just realized #pixelfed has a #apk I can install on #Android from their website. #fdroid store should pick it up, I don't see it on #aurorastore either yet -- I've been anticipating this for a while and first impressions are quite good. Its hard to believe its been 2 1/2 years since I joined pixelfed & the #fediverse already.
