I was chatting with a trans friend today about moving out of the US, and she suggested that she might go to Australia. What do my fellow Aussie trans think about that? How would you rate Australia as a trans friendly place, from your perspective?

I honestly believe the trans part would be no big deal, really (other than finding doctors if still in transition), in most 1st world large population centers OTHER THAN USA.

Out in the Styx it could be a different story.

I think the bigger bugaboo would be being an American. Americans have a strong "asshole" stereotype on the international stage.

You will get asked to show your (literal) guns. You're American, ergo, you're packing.
