Welp, Ben Stein has posted a video of himself waxing nostalgic for the days when Aunt Jemima syrup bottles featured a 'large African American woman.' šŸ™„

Ben Stein Dragged For Rant About Aunt Jemima No Longer Being A 'Large African American Woman'

Yeah, no.

@georgetakei "I never got into the habit of killing. I could mention the names of many that it would please me if I could read their obituaries in the paper in the morning." -- Clarence Darrow
@georgetakei they will feign outrage over anything.
@georgetakei : Thanks, George - but I'll pass on the opportunity to watch him in action. Let's just say I’m not a fan of his.
@georgetakei
Yes I too miss my negro syrup bottle.......said no sane human on the planet!
@georgetakei It's what the brand was known as for gods knows how long; I can't blame the old dude. Even you have to admit that this rebranding to appease absolutely no-one was a bit silly.

@jasoncox @georgetakei

Says the white bigot guy

@davidhmccoy @georgetakei found the ignorant twit who wouldn’t know a bigot if one jumped up and bit him on the arse!

@jasoncox @georgetakei

That’s the solution. Double down on racism.

@davidhmccoy There is absolutely nothing racist in what I said. And if you turkey think that’s racist, you’re as dense as Trump.

@jasoncox

Just keep digging.

@davidhmccoy jason retracted another personal attack but apparently deleted it now

Typical

@jasoncox @georgetakei are you trying to suggest that 'absolutely no-one' was pleased to see that depiction retired?

@jasoncox @georgetakei

No ..
What’s silly is the pathetic white perception of good ole black mammy servin up some fine fixins for the white massah.

@usanchor You do realize that everyone could buy that brand of products and they weren’t locked away in a secret ā€œwhites onlyā€ section of the grocery store, right? Good gods you MAGA folks are odd.
@georgetakei I can’t express the sorrow I feel knowing that my young son will never experience the warm comfort of grabbing ol’mammy from the kitchen cupboard to pour over his Sunday pancakes. Nothing like a little casual racism to bring the family together. šŸ™„
@georgetakei Ben Stein is a bigot and disgusting human
@georgetakei Booooo! I guess that's why Ben Stein is no longer relevant.
@georgetakei I wonder if Ben Stein is a fan of the crook-nosed caricatures of a certain other group…
@toriver @georgetakei or the work for everybody camps from the 30’s.
@georgetakei He's in the Qult Of The Blue Blazers.
@georgetakei "American love... like syrup in big plastic bottles...you just can't get it anymore."
@georgetakei Priceless Ben.. when your i Believe Jewish.. yet you yearn for the days of Racism.. to the Blacks.. cant make this stuff up..wow.
@georgetakei he’s so wrapped up in nostalgia he doesn’t understand his privilege.
@georgetakei Stein is another supply-side slug. In his mind, the world stopped in 1983, and all of his public remarks are about shouting at clouds, and lamenting reality.
@georgetakei what do you expect from one of President Nixon's speech writers.
@georgetakei Stein is anti abortion, but has an open marriage. I’m sure he rung up a big bill on those working girls. Who’d fuck anyone that ugly willingly is in dire need of a psych ward.
@georgetakei
If this is the opposite of woke, does that mean he is asleep. Maybe he should wax on about the days when food was made from real ingredients and not cron syrup and caramel coloring
@georgetakei If the right wing didn't have clown shoes they would have nothing to wear on their feet.
@georgetakei it's an unfortunate thing to see.
@georgetakei they have all gone mad!
@suep @georgetakei they were already mad, they just feel more confident in advertising it these days.
@georgetakei So, Ben Stein longs for the Aunt Jemima caricature from the 1930s and '40s. (The logo was updated decades ago, sometime during the 1980s, if memory serves. And the print ads in magazines back then are cringe-worthy, especially if you're African American.) Well, that's too damn bad, Ben Stein.
@georgetakei I can’t believe the guy uses that garbage instead of legit maple syrup. So… he’s clueless on ALL counts.
The most intelligent thing he's ever said is "Buehler".
@georgetakei .... Maybe he wishes to have her actually serving pancakes to him...
@georgetakei He won't eat Log Cabin because of the Republican group with the same name.
@georgetakei Real people eat REAL maple syrup from New England or Canada or wherever. Not some b******t corn syrup with food coloring. Dear lord. Of all the things to take a ā€œmoralā€ stand on….
@georgetakei Why are we giving Ben Stein oxygen? We could do so much better.
@georgetakei I wonder how many times they had to re-shoot the video because he used the N word?

@lord_velveeta @georgetakei cue up Sen Kennedy LA .. back in the day, those N.. er .. colored …

What? We can’t call em colored ?? Well what the H E double L is goin on?

@georgetakei senile old man. Was he eating the syrup because there was a a black woman on the label? Did it change the taste when they changed the label? He’s an ass.

@georgetakei I keep scratching my head and wondering. Was this fellow… supposed to be funny? What is he, and how did he come to bother us? National Lampoon? šŸ¤” I vaguely recall him playing a bad professor on television movie reruns… was there a game show I never watched?

Why be shockingly up-front and honest now?

More’s the point: why does his (seemingly racist) voice particularly matter? I’ve got some research to do. I’m really trying to figure out why he’s special and how he’s relevant. 😟

@georgetakei After Scott Adams' rant about white folks staying away from black ones, these 2 aging white guys should get in a room together and debate the proper amount of "exposure" to black folks.
Ben Stein likes a logo featuring the likeness of spokeswoman Nancy Green, a former slave, on a bottle of syrup. Bet he would've done everything to avoid her in real life had he met her in the 1920s.

@georgetakei We didn't win enough of Ben Stein's money when we had the chance.

Lesson learned.

@georgetakei bloody hell. Now I can’t watch Ferris Bueller’s Day Off with a clear conscience.
@georgetakei In the UK, we used to have jam (jelly) jars featuring ā€˜gollywogsā€. Thank God the world has moved on.
@georgetakei His Fascist Syrup in so many ways.
@georgetakei I needed a good laugh šŸ˜‚
