#OnThisDay, 22 Feb 1943, Sophie Scholl is sentenced to death and immediately executed for distributing anti-Nazi literature at her university in Munich, Germany alongside her brother Hans. Hans was also killed.

Very interesting, that the girl, attending the group of her older brother and his friends later, is now the best-known figure in the traditional story, seldeom told: Medicine-students at the Ost-Front, between Minsk and Smolensk, amoung them a guy with russian mother, now als holy person in the russian orthdox church: Alexander Schmorell, murdered 13.
