“How can we expect righteousness to prevail when there is hardly anyone willing to give himself up individually to a righteous cause... It is such a splendid sunny day, and I have to go.”

80 years later, and it's happening again 😥
@Mordko @CarveHerName @histodons
That is sad. Also in the US and elsewhere, unfortunately.
@BendingUnit @CarveHerName @histodons is that so? Who did they sentence to death for distributing anti-Nazi literature in the US?
@CarveHerName @histodons @theappletree 2016 was the year we learned how few Sophie and Hans Scholls there are among the media.
@CarveHerName reminds me reality in putler's Russia. some days ago a journalist was sentenced for words "love and fiendship are stronger than war".
we live in dystopian times.
@CarveHerName @histodons what a tough lady. An example to us all.
@CarveHerName

Very interesting, that the girl, attending the group of her older brother and his friends later, is now the best-known figure in the traditional story, seldeom told: Medicine-students at the Ost-Front, between Minsk and Smolensk, amoung them a guy with russian mother, now als holy person in the russian orthdox church: Alexander Schmorell, murdered 13. Juli 1943.
@CarveHerName @histodons The people of Iran know this as well. Dictators must be eliminated and replaced by the will of the people.
@CarveHerName
Sophie was only 21 years old.
@CarveHerName @histodons the movie about her final days was quite well done
@CarveHerName @iron_bug He wasn't guillotined and it's 80 years ago. I am horrified at #Russia'n society.
@lmsvater @CarveHerName it's a huge country. the most people have never seen government and cannot affect to it in any way. it's not like in Europe.
